On April 23, 1971, Portuguese freighter ANGOCHE left Nacala for Porto Amelia in northern Mozambique.
The ship never reached her destination.
The crew - 23 men - and one passenger disappeared.
ANGOCHE was found abandoned (in flames) three days later by Panamian tanker Esso Port Dickson.
The ANGOCHE had been damaged by explosions and fire, but her cargo of war materials (including bombs - Portuguese Air force) was eventually intact.
So far nobody has claimed responsability for the sabotage.
